The Celtic Manor Resort, which hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup, has been voted 'Europe’s Golf Resort of the Year' at the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) awards in Valencia. Celtic Manor chief executive Dylan Matthews said: "This is a great honour and wonderful to be recognised by the world’s golf travel specialists.

Over 300 IAGTO members – golf tour operators from 51 different countries – recognised the excellence of the service and facilities at the five-star resort in South Wales, which beat off strong competition from several countries.

The R9 Driver has a small metallic sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft. The shaft is secured to the club head with a specially made bolt in the bottom of the club head. The FCT bolt is designed to be retained in the well to eliminate the chance of losing it. At the bottom of the sleeve is a ring of small, gear like teeth, which tightly mesh with a second ring of matching teeth within the hosel.

"It is very pleasing that in a year when we hosted one of the world’s biggest golf tournaments, we also more than matched the expectations of the tour operators who bring so many golfers to our resort and its three championship golf courses.

"While the Ryder Cup was obviously a big focus for us, we have remained committed to providing a fantastic, five-star experience to all our visiting golfers, not just the world’s best players. Previous winners were: Turnberry Hotel, Portugal’s San Lorenzo and Carton House and Doonbeg in Ireland.

In addtion, the TaylorMade R9 includes one 16-gram & two 1-gram changeable weights. This allows you to change the clubs center of gravity location to affect side-to-side flight by up to 35 yards. Put the heavy weight in the heel port to promote a draw, in the toe port to promote a fade, and in the middle port to promote a straight flight

Masters champion Phil Mickelson described the Twenty Ten Course as a "great venue for matchplay" while European Captain Colin Montgomerie called the facilities "seven-star". The resort is also home to a state-of-the-art Golf Academy which was appointed the Wales National Centre of Excellence in 2009 when a new all-weather short game practice area and indoor putting green was added to the covered driving range and teaching studios.

The Celtic Manor Resort is also able to tailor bespoke golfing trips for individuals and groupsother courses including Royal Porthcawl, Southerndown and Pennard. At last, You can change the TaylorMade R9 Driver head's characteristics (face angle, loft, lie) by loosening the FCT bolt, removing the shaft from the head, rotating the sleeve and shaft into a specified position, then locking them into that position within the head with the FCT bolt.
