The
MP-67 irons combine the tour winning characteristics of Mizuno's classic blades, with a Cut Muscle design, developed to fine tune performance through the set. The Cut Muscle design allows complete ball control by pinpointing the COG (Centre of Gravity) inside the muscle back design.
A neutral COG relative to the shaft axis and a consistent sweet spot location allow quality ball strikers to work the ball in either direction, whilst maintaining control of trajectory. The perception of feel is enhanced by a 5% head-weight shift into the strike area, while the use of high grade 1025E pure mild carbon steel in Mizuno's Grain Flow Forging process promises unparalleled consistency. The cambered head sole of the MP-67 allows the player precise shot making capability from all types of lies.
These are very nice clubs and I would definatly recomend these to a more experenced player. If you want alot of feed back and workablity, these are the clubs for you, but if you have problems hitting the sweetspot, I would recomend getting the Mizuno MX-950 because they have great feedback also but a bigger sweetspot :-). I was using some cavity back irons and I don't think I'll ever go back. Ever since I've started using these clubs, I've lowered my HC from a 9.4 to a 5.2. These are just plain-out great irons for an experience player.
The cambered sole of the MP-67TM allows the player precise shot making capability from all types of lies. The long irons achieve a mid-high trajectory, while the scoring irons deliver a mid trajectory. The MP-67TM offers unmatched ball control by utilizing a new "Slender" Cut MuscleTM Design to precisely position the COG from iron to iron.
It tends to give me a natural draw balls yet quite workable to control the balls for fade as well. Feel is quite soft with fantastic sound when hitting sweet spot. I adjusted the loft angle to strong by 1 degree (same as other forged irons in general) though, still ball hight is very good and longer the distance.
The
iron is part of a group of new RAZR Hawk products, including fairway metals and hybrids, we understand are due to be introduced to golfers in Europe in the Spring.
Observed a Callaway spokesman on the range in Hawaii: "When Ernie arrived he wanted to see the new driver that we had for him and after about 10 swings he said he was very impressed with it. He put it in play and hit 80 percent of fairways for the week."
With its forged composite head and a weighting system to promote either a draw or neutral ball flight, it looks likely to be a sure winner alongside the standard RAZR Hawk version models.
In a word, it is the greatest iron set I have ever used.
